A young girl who grew up on stories of magic casters. She learned of a woman who once lived their small town around that was quite gifted in magic, despite learning most of her skills herself, that departed before she was born to become stronger. She was inspired to be like this woman and wanted to be just like her and began learning what few skills she could on her own. Most of the best casters in the world are born naturally attuned to the elements but it is not impossible to become attuned through training. Without a master to instruct her, she had difficulty in truly achieving this feat.

One day, the news had gotten out that the woman that inspired her had recently returned to their town and had actually become a true Master of magic in her time away. She sought this woman out and met almost no difficulty in finding her. The woman stood out like a sore thumb amongst all these familiar people. She always had her own idea of what she would look like but she never imagined she could be so beautiful, it was intimidating just to behold her. It was at the moment that the woman beckoned her that she realized she had been staring. She approached despite how embarrassed she felt.

This warm and friendly woman introduced herself as Eva. She had this air about her that told her she did not seem to demand any amount of respect from anyone which definitely helped Merrin relax and finally get her words out, of which she held none back. Merrin told Eva her dream of being a caster and how Eva had always been an inspiration to her and how she learned everything she could on her own but was struggling to fully attune. She respectfully asked for Eva to teach her to become better. Eva returned her openness and admitted she had come home in hopes to emotionally recover from the departure of her previous apprentice, and while she admitted that she wasn't quite yet ready to take on another she also admitted that she was impressed by her drive and honesty and decided to give her a chance.

Eva began helping her enhance her attunement as this was going to be the only way she could proceed to properly train her. There did come a moment where Merrin felt truly frustrated in herself for being unable to improve and began to wonder if she was wasting her and Eva's time, but a breakthrough was eventually reached after a much-needed heart-to-heart. Eva had become Merrin's master and Merrin had become Eva's apprentice. Her talents have grown quite well since and has developed an aptitude for teleportation-based abilities, a feat that Eva is especially delighted by. She hopes to continue impressing her master as the years go on.
