I meant to post this yesterday, but I ended up getting busy and distracted Whoops! Oh well... here it is now.

So in light of my recent decision to try and make the most of my art, for a good portion for the rest of the year, by designing (new/old) characters, I decided to start by redesigning these lovely ladies: [link] because let's face it; after four years, they NEEDED it

Jessi (who is the little pink Amy Rose looking thing in the older image) got both a species and a design makeover She's now a kangaroo rat [link] (blame Jyrras from the webcomic DMFA and Jake from the movie Rescuers Down Under) and her clothing has been tweaked into something a little more stylish (head bandana and skirt/sash thingy ftw!).

As the illustration shows, this lucky lady happens to end up with Josh [link] ...Only she doesn't know it's Josh 8D; See, around the time she meets/sees him, it's when Josh is under that whole "people are supposed to think I'm dead" operation (along with Raff, Mase and Shawn), so he introduces himself under the fake name of Joel (and that's also why he's wearing the alternate outfit).

I think they're just supposed to be strolling down a street or in a club (made a snazzy little wall mural/hanging design in the background there ). Yay for me insisting on making pretty backgrounds! *hit* In other random factoids of interesting... Jessi happens to be best friends with Christina, who is Josh's twin sister Needless to say, it makes for quite the interesting revelation when the whole operation is done with and Josh is finally able to tell her who he really is But that's a story for another day!
