SPOILER WARNING!!! Episode 18, which has caused/is causing massive heartache all over the Gankutsuou fandom. I... I really don't know what else to say about this pic. Supposed to be after the camera pans out w/ that long, LONG heartrending silence followed by Albert's piercing scream, the part where all we see is the view of the park bathed in the misty, dewy, pale ivory of daylight's earliest rays. *sighs deeply* Tried to portray as much emotion as possible w/ the hunched back and shoulders, but I don't know if the posture emotes enough. Am putting this under Traditional Art since I did spend much, much more time on the lineart and the gunge-ifying of the pic rather than the digital tweaking. I just watched this episode today, and I've got to say its the saddest and most heart-wrenching scene I've seen in a long time. Franz.. D:
This is done beautifully. The charcoal is a great idea, and the emotion is portrayed wonderfully. Very agonizing, raw moment for Albert, and thus for the viewer. Excellent job

Agggggh, I HATED THIS SCENE. 
We just watched this episode in my school's anime club, and as soon as they realized that Franz had gone to fight the duel (when Albert sees he's alone in the secret tower) I heard someone behind me go, "Oh, no...!"
And now a bunch of people are sad and outraged. But I do love your portrayal of Franz's final moments. ....I still sad

A true character artist. You do great things with your subjects, it would be interesting to flick through your sketchbooks. I'd claim you into the fold of animators, the 'actors with pencils,' you really capture some serious moments. I love the title of this one too, 'cradle,' so poignant. Really well done

I love these two so much. And yeah, heartbreak for sure. I had never cried from watching fiction...Gankutsuou was my first. Oh, I hated that feeling so much. Franz and Albert were so beautiful together...you captured it well here. I like how their faces are obscured. :')
