Description
Been in a real Mario & Sonic mood recently, so I decided to get this out of my system.Since its been made clear by now that Mario & Sonic at London 2012 doesn't have any newcomer characters in the playable roster, I did a piece to make up for that fact.

Sassy and fearless, Rouge aims to do whatever it takes to win in the London Olympics. She may not be the most fit athlete for long distance running, but her skill and power equal to make her formidable in events like Soccer/Football.
Though I still think she would be a good choice for the only female power type in the game. She would have the most technique out of all of them.
The art style used here is what I like to call "false 3d" as its the same method I've been using to make the concepts for PonyKart. It involves erasing all the lines that make up the image then edit it to have said image resemble the official artwork SEGA makes.

The 2016 Olympics are gonna be held in Rio de Janeiro next, right? It'd be a shame if they didn't have soccer in the next Mario & Sonic game.
And if they did, it'd be a CRIME not to include Rouge; like you said, she'd be PERFECT for it. I predict that she and Birdo are gonna be the new playable characters, if there are any.

I'll admit that I'm not a big fan of Rouge, but I do like her athletic attire in this picture.Β And you did an excellent job with the shading job...it's very soft and natural.

It's a shame Rouge isn't playable in the game.
That outfit would work for her if she was playable as it uses her colours black and pink on her top, bottoms and sneakers/trainers.
They could have used this outfit for her during the hurdles rival scenes instead of her usual one. At least she could jump easily over the hurdles in those boots instead of her usual ones!

Great pic! The colours are great and you got the character bang on. Good job man, but there's one MAJOR problem with it that I need to point out.
Her hands are on wrong. If her hands are supposed to be in the position I think they're supposed to be in then you know that her thumbs are supposed to be pointing towards her. Outside of that you did a great job...but I wouldn't mind seeing more of a background on this as well as trying to make her right leg pop out a bit more to create some more depth in the picture.
Finally, I've been meaning to ask how you're feeling about 'Sonic:Generations'. I'm not a fan of alot of the current Sonic games after the Adventure series but Generations seems like something I've been waiting for a long time. The issue is that Sega/Sonic Team always seems to drop the ball at the last minute and I wanna know since you're a bigger fan than I am...are they gonna drop the ball?

From what I've seen, both Knuckles and Rouge have shown to be almost on par when it comes to strength.
Knuckles through upper-body strength
Rouge through lower-body strength
Problem is, she hasn't shown very much of any real physical power since SA2. Flying has been her signature ability for obvious reasons though she does it even when its unnecessary, and she uses items like her bat cracker bomb to attack instead.
I don't think SEGA hates Knuckles (mind you, I like him as well), I think they're just making Rouge lazy nowadays.

Knuckles should be on par (and beyond) with characters like Silver, blaze, and shadow.
