Man, those game are kinda cruel, being the one series where the dead stay dead until you start it all over again.

Unique certainly. Maybe rather too unique, since some other games could use that, though preferably it not becoming a standard.

The only other game that comes to my mind is Hidden and Dangerous, the WW2 commando game where ya pick your team from a bunch of people with different strenghts and weaknesses and you really ain't wanting to lose too many of them.
