Hi! I don't know if you've answered this before, but my pen side isn't responsive to the tablet at all, but my eraser side is. However, the eraser side highlights everything and "draws" when it hovers over the tablet. I tried to do these steps, but both magnets seem fine and it appears nothing is broken? Do you have a solution maybe?
I've tried uninstalling and installing the latest drivers, but nothing seems to be working! I really don't want to buy a new pen, but I guess if necessary, I will... Thank you!

I've got a problem with separating the two parts of the pen, how do I do that? It feels like it's attached to it with glue or something like that. My arms hurt now.Β
It's not a wacom pen btw, it's a genius one.

Unfortunately, I know nothing about the Genius brand. I wish I could help, but I have never worked any Genius pens or tablets. That being said, the following should be read with a giant, heaping pile of severe common sense.
The first thing I would suggest is making sure the batteries are new and the pen is getting power. Otherwise,Β I have done some snooping online and the Genius models look very similar in design to the Bamboo pens.Β I would imagine that they go together in a similar fashion. Your assumption that it may be held together with glue is a plausible one. I would suggest attempting to continue a prying method, but make sure the tool you are using is slender enough to fit cleanly between the two pieces.Β
I hope that maybe this helps even a little. Good luck!

Β damn XD
well, this pen doesn't need batteries, the tablet itself does so yeah, I have no freakin' idea how to separate the two parts, they do look similar to wacom pens though I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Β Anyway , thanks for replying <3 I hope I'll find a way to fix this, heh.

I've been looking for something like this since Wacom [Bamboo] doesn't make these anymore [discontinued]

How about the tablet? What should I know about taking that apart? Can I?

BleuKettu In reply to ViolaCesario [2014-01-24 03:08:52 +0000 UTC]
I am so sorry it took so long to reply.Β
I have never actually needed to take the tablet itself apart, so I can't really answer your question. Based on the fairly simplistic base of its design, I would say that with some patience and a lot of gentle care the tablet should be able to be pried apart in a similar fashion as the pen. Don't quote me on that, though, I'm really just thinking 'out loud' right now. But if repairing the pen didn't work, the problem may be with the tablet, or even the USB chord.Β
I hope this helped a little. I'm sorry I can't give you anything more precise than this. Let me know if there is any other help I can give you. Good luck with your tablet!

Heyy.. I wanted to say thanks for the tutorial.. and also, my trigger button just won't come out! Did yours just pop loose?

BleuKettu In reply to shortdesigns-x [2013-04-26 19:53:57 +0000 UTC]
You're very welcome.
With the pen standing up and the pen nib on the table, you should be able to pull out the top of the trigger button, the end closest to the eraser. The trigger should then lift up, toward the eraser, not out away from pen. After that the trigger should be loose and able to be removed. It's a slide lock that keeps it attached, kind of like the back of a cell phone.

How do you know if it's the magnet on the inside that's broken?

BleuKettu In reply to Rika35 [2013-03-20 03:44:03 +0000 UTC]
Troubleshoot:
Is the tip not working, but the eraser still is?
If yes, than the pen itself is working and it is most likely just the magnet in the pen tip.
If the eraser is not working, but the pen tip is, simply follow the same repair method, but on the other end.
If neither the pen tip nor the eraser is working, you either have two broken magnets (very unlikely)or you may have a problem with the internal circuit board. Sadly, there isn't really any way to test for that since no voltage runs through it.
I hope this helped. If you have any other questions, just let me know and I'll do my best to help you.

It's the tip that doesn't work but the eraser does.
I managed to take my pen apart and found that both of the magnets are fine. The problem is the wire on the pen side has detatched itself from the silver part.
Like... there's two silver ovals on the circet board were two strands of copper wire is attached.
Is there a way for me to attach the wire back?

Actually, the same technique should work on both ends. It worked fine for me on the nib end, there is no reason in the world why you shouldn't be able to do this with the eraser end too. As long as the metal parts still touch it will repair.
If this method won't work though you can check here: [link]
Hope this helps.

Me neither. At first I tried to look up other tutorials, but they're all icky, so I figured, it was broken anyway, forcing it apart isn't going to change anything. But then I saw that it had the connection guard and after that it was a piece of cake.

You are so welcome. When I fixed mine the sensitivity changed a little, but not drastically. The reason why is because of the glue, blocking some of the magnetic signal. I just felt like I should put it in there, just in case.
