Description hey just a quick heads up....if you are on Facebook and haven't friended me. I am at 4950 friends and once it hits 5K it's going to close. It's my most active spot online and when I start a "fan page" on facebook it's just not going to be the same....so make sure if you want to get in, you do it today because I am pretty sure we are going to hit that number very soon.

thanks and hope you all are doing well!

I'll be getting more active on Twitter too. Β I had been so busy I really just found Facebook the easiest to show art from...but you can also follow me on twitter here.

twitter.com/Blasterkid

thanks!

You can do this though to avoid having to add people you don't know:

- make fan relevant posts set to public, like anything art or convention/signing/event related (and keep personal posts set to friends only)
- turn on followers so people can follow you vs adding you as a friend
- make a public post inviting people to follow you rather than sending a friend request if they don't know you, so they can still see your art posts

Hey Richard,if you activate followers you can still have people follow you on your private page and get updates.Without having to add them all.

hahahaha

The best bet to to try and ink a full page every day...even when learning...if not at the max do say 2-3 days per page if they are really hard...

If I have no interruptions I can pump a page out in 8-10 hrs, depending on the amount of detail. For whatever reason I can ink old buscema and romita Sr. fairly quick

the "trick" to getting work these days is for sure become buddies with pencilers who want to use one.

Companies I think rarely are actively looking for inkers...and a lot of pencilers don't use them for one reason or another.

so become buddies with LOTS of pencilers and ones that either don't ink themselves...or don't go straight to color from pencils.

I for one value working with a great inkers. Still looks better than thresholding or darkening pencils. Will you still be doing the YouTube vids Rich
?

yeah I will.

I find I am less likely to do it when I am working on monthly deadlines.

everything moves so fast I don't really get a chance to reflect and really immerse myself in much other than..."I need to get a page done every day of my life
until this book is over" but the second you are done with one book...you get to start at the bottom of the hill again and now you are facing a full new issue that needs to get done.
Just as quickly and consistently as the last.

Most well known to moderately well known already are comfortable with the inkers they have worked with in the past.

I like working with some of the people from south america. They usually are open to people inking their work and high def files are not a struggle to get from them.

to be honest I remember when I was at like 2500 going man it will take forever to hit 5K...it took a while but I don't really troll for friends.

so it was a natural build and I feel I built a strong real following of people into my work...so thank you!!

what I am going to do is leave that main facebook page as actually a fan page. So the people 'in' now will keep getting that work and a sort of global view of my time with DC currently as they're already used to.....

then start a true facebook fan page that is 100% devoted to my own ideas, my own art, and my own POV....no shared work and a lot more personal.
so I just want to max that one out and call that a wrap...and then get on with my own page as odd as that might sound
