Description Sometimes I honestly do wonder why the magical thing is always hidden in a crazy ass spot.

This is both an amusing and true observation of the placement of treasure in roleplaying type games.

The pose is very nicely done. We can see that she is performing a difficult feat of dexterity to get that dagger, and that she will probably have to struggle more to get out of there while carrying that dagger. Your lighting is overall pretty good. There area a few places (tail, thigh, collar) where the reflected light from that magical dagger seems the same as on the side nearer to the artifact. If the dagger illuminates that far, there should be more blue showing up on the side of her body that is nearer to it. If not then the reflected lighting is too strong at her tail. Her hand reaching for the dagger should have more light reflecting on it. Her fingers are getting the light very nicely, but her palm should be illuminated too. This brings us to the background and surroundings. You have the atmosphere of a dangerous dungeon pretty well especially with the smoky, almost gritty background. Your lava could use a little work though. The surface has a quality more like that of water. It is important to remember that lava is much more viscous than water. Its surface will appear differently than water. There will likely be hotter paces, perhaps with splatters of really hot lava bubbling up and erupting from the surface. A good reference for what you're looking for would be the lava that comes from Hawaii's volcanoes. Some African volcanoes might have what you're looking for too although some of the lava from those volcanoes can look more like mud. You do have the hotter tones in your rocks that suggest that the lava is hot, which is a good environmental clue for your audience.

All-in-all, you've done a pretty good job here. The painful and dangerous quest for magical artifacts definitely is memorable. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the critique I am taking a lot of this into consideration as I attempt to rework parts of the painting
