More Season 9 Comics
Fauna: You knew about this all along, didn't you.
Zecora: I had a friend back home who was a giraffe. When you thought they can't talk, it just made me laugh.
Fauna: Well, don't you think there are ways you can solve problems and tell people things WITHOUT making them drink mysterious potions?
Zecora: I am a chemist, not a therapist.

Alright punks, listen up. It's me, totally B.J. Dazzle and not just some rabbit pretending to be them, here to bring you the next part of the Season 9 whatever. This week's comic is based on She Talks to Angel, aka: "Angel Bunny Finally Tells Us What's REALLY on His Mind: the Episode". This is easily one of the best episodes of the season. After all, it stars m-... I mean, Angel, playin' the role of temporary pony as we really get a closer look at him as a character and really learn more about the mysterious bunny we've come to love and praise over the years! ...And that whole "body swap potion" thing is kinda neat, I guess. I could say more about the episode, but writin' this description is pretty borin', so I'm just gonna get a move on.
Lessee... looks like this comic is about that one giraffe that lives in the Sanctuary? Pfft, I dunno WHAT I was thinkin', clearly this comic should have been about the livin' miracle that is Angel Bunny! ...Well, since we're here... I know I ain't the only one that's brought that giraffe's existence and status in the world into question; practically every other creature with hooves in this nonsensical world is able to talk and hold a job and stuff, so I dunno why the giraffe gets a pass. Ah well, she's been here for a while now, and I'm just some stupid loser on the internet that gets really passionate about a children's cartoon for some reason, so what do I know.
So... now I guess I gotta end with some sorta inspirational tagline or somethin'? Lessee... uh, stay in school, don't do drugs. Yeah, sure. See ya next episode, I guess. Maybe. We'll see.

That's funny, because I've developed the theory that she can talk and is actually pretty annoyed that everypony treats her like an animal, even though she comes from a far away and very highly-developed giraffe nation, but that she can't tell them because something is wrong with her throat and she won't be able to talk again until it's healed.
"in this nonsensical world"
Though, I hope that's just part of the "I talk like Angel" joke you have going here. If not, I have to roast you over an open fire.

So she's trapped in a Planet of the Apes scenario? Yikes!
...And I don't condone anything Angel said in my place. That guy's a jerk.

I think that's the case. There could be other reasons for why giraffes are different, but since there was a problem with her throat when she reached out to Fluttershy for help, this is one very likely reason.
A jerk? So much for it that this episode makes people see Angel's true colors and learn that he isn't a jerk..... I hoped people would see this after watching it.

He was still a jerk in this episode; uncaringly abusing the animals, putting his own desires above everyone else's needs, mocking Fluttershy behind her back... It seems like he's making more of an attempt now, and of course he cares about Fluttershy a lot... but I don't see how that makes him not a jerk.

He just wanted to get Fluttershy's attention. The episode showed that he always acted so demanding because he is dissatisfied with being just a bunny and that he doesn't have many ponies to talk to, because only Fluttershy understands his language. I hope you are only one of a few who overlooked that, but I'm not sure.....
Pent-up frustration, internal suffering of any kind, unhappiness from various sources, depression, ect. makes people act out of the line sometimes. It doesn't make them bad people or jerks. And Angel has shown in the past already that he is a good guy. He often encouraged Fluttershy to be more brave and pushed her into the right direction. This episode just solidified it and made it completely clear how Angel really is.
Angel is best pet.

"he is dissatisfied with being just a pony"
...Think you meant bunny.
And of COURSE I know all that! Of course Angel is best pet! But having a good reason to act like a jerk is still acting like a jerk! He was still displaying inappropriate behavior for the past 9 seasons that he was only recently able to confess as to why, and it was still something that hurt others from time to time and needed to be apologized for (which he did, thankfully).
Angel, along with the likes of Discord and Trixie and even Rainbow Dash, are some of my favorite characters on the show, who are all great friends and caring and dependable when they need to be, who tend to have good reasons (historical or otherwise) for acting out when they do, and have proven their merits time and again in many situations. This does not change the fact that, more often than not... they're kinda jerks!

But that frees them from being jerks. What you mean is, that their behavior is still of a jerkish nature. But since that behavior is inspired by mental trouble or other things they can't control and give them grief, it means they aren't jerks themselves. Other example, someone yells at another person a lot and says very mean things here and there and they appear completely, verbally abusive. But one day it turns out that the yelling person had something happen to them that caused them a massive amount of mental stress that forced them to act this way and they couldn't force themselves to stop. Does that make them an abuser? No, their mind just forced that behavior on them.
They acted unintentionally abusive, but they aren't an actual abuser. Angel acted unintentionally jerkish, but he isn't an actual jerk.
It's cruel and wrong to call people such things and label them as "jerk" or as "abuser" or whatever when they never wanted to act like that. Only once you've gotten to know a person properly and were able to look under their surface, you'll really know them.

Fair enough. And I didn't really mean anything by it; I just didn't think "jerk" was that bad a word. I know friends that call each other that all the time; it's meant as a playful rib. I do like Angel, and love this episode as a character study for him.

Friends insulting each other for fun. Not exactly the same here, but I know that. I wrote about two sisters doing that once, Dinky and Sparkler. This brings up memories. *sighs*

I refuse to budge from my headcanon that Clementine is just as much a person as anyone else in Ponyville, she just can't afford health insurance and Fluttershy makes some bomb-ass tea.

Love it!
Especially since it always bugged me that they lumped in giraffes with non-talking animals when pretty much every other equine or hoofed creature -was- sentient. Yes, I know I'm a geek.

If you are such a geek, then why do you not think about this and find an answer on the question why, of all hoofed creatures, it's only the giraffes that haven't founded a society and still live like wild animals, instead of calling it inconsistent and moving on? Doesn't make you sound very geeky.

Both of them drank Zecora's body swap potion from the recent episode, which, like in the episode, switches the position of the users' bodies, but not their minds. Dr. Fauna now knows that the giraffe can talk because she, in the giraffe's body, is currently talking.
