Description:
FP-7 perhaps, the most unconventional weapon I have in my deviantart armory.
FP-7 is an air-powered pistol that fires 7mm steel or tungsten flechettes.
The pistol fires in semi-automatic fire mode and feeds from a detachable 8-round box magazine.
Being an air gun the pistol uses compressed air to propel the projectile.
Filling the air gun with air is done through the air inlet located at the rear of weapon’s body, the weapon however lacks a built-in pressure gauge to control the pressure in air reservoir, so instead it has a built-in pressure safety device. When the pressure in the weapon’s air reservoir reaches it’s maximum, the device disconnects the air inlet from the nozzle, and prevents filling the weapon with air until the pressure drops.
The air system allows the weapon to propel flechettes at very high velocities, which are enough to punch through soft body armor (kevlar) at short range. The weapon has an effective distance about 30 meters, and relatively good accuracy. The weapon can fire about 30 shots, without losing the power.
The weapon features adjustable opened sights, and also features a picatinny rail for mounting various accessories.
