Description
Lightning holds a terrific amount of energy, too much for most organisms to withstand, so most electrosynthetic Odifunga have evolved to collect charge from the clouds before it accumulates and releases. These gas-filled species (Supernateta Class) fill the upper cloud layer, and are frequent in the higher reaches of the lower layer, their presence being made known by small flashes of discharge. These organisms also produce tiny jelly-like ‘fruits’ filled with their spores that many animals eat and distribute.
Motira species take a more active approach to gathering their energy. They use a system of neuromasts in their skin to identify pockets of higher charge, and coordinate their flapped tendrils to reach those areas.
