From top to bottom and left to right:
1. Original lines
2. Tweaked lines (I tend to change people's lines to suit my colouring style more, deleting solid inked areas for instance)
3. Single colour flats (I do this in shots with multiple figures so I know who's who)
4. Colour flats
5. Mono flats
6. Mono cell shading (just the highlights this time to get the lighting right)
7. Soft shading
8. Final including colour wash and texture overlay.

You know I'm not usually 'into' your softer shading, but I think this image has me sold.
I love:
The tall shadow. The texture overlay. The light in Fester's mouth. The Cigar smoke. The pin-stripes...of lord I love those pin-stripes!
