With the loss of the four alicorn princesses and many other important, well known, and powerful ponies, the new fusion royalty is in dire need to scramble those whom are able or willing to take up the many abandoned mantles that have been left in the ponies absence. From the Elements of Harmony, to rulers of far off provinces such as the Crystal Empire, as well as their territories of Zebrica, and other "Equine" affiliated lands of the empire now left leaderless despite the presence of alicorns. Even after Queen Galaxia (Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadence) and her inexperienced husband fusion and first male alicorn in eons King Speedy Hooves (Shining Armor, Flash Sentry, Big Macintosh, Troubleshoes Clyde) solved the issue of the Crystal Empire royalty by using the mysterious fusion potion to create 2 more alicorns, Calm Merriment (Cheese Sandwich, Soarin, Fancy Pants, Donut Joe) and Motherly Morning (Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Sunset Shimmer) there still lies the many tasks, agencies and other forms of beaurocracy that need governance and management. One of those being education, and with Princess Celestia being gone now nopony was there to maintain the system of teachings Equestria's future. Yet with more fusion vials and a need for somepony of many talents dire to manage the Royal Equestrian Education system, Galaxia hatches a plan to fix the issue...
