Description Mandelbulb3D

Dahlβ€”One of the poorer sections of Trantor. The main job of the lower class is heatsinking, where workers supervise the conversion of heat from the planet's core directly into electric power; 'heatsinkers' were generally looked down upon by other Dahlites. Naturally, most Dahlites hated the Empire, and the soldiers of the Empire ('sunbadgers'). Dahlites were dark skinned, black-haired, and fairly short. Dahlite males wore a large, thick mustache, and all carried knives (then very backward). Rather than using 'Mr.', 'Mrs.', or 'Dr.', as forms of address, Dahlites always used 'Master' and 'Mistress' (never 'Doctor'). The name Dahl may be reference to the Indian dalit or untouchable caste. Known Dahlites: Yugo Amaryl, Mother Rittah, Raych Seldon.

Funny, just a few minutes ago I commented on another of your images that it looked like high above Trantor.

I am also amazed at the transparency, and what a great city abstract. The thumb was as amazing as the zoom. Thanks for the info above

When I look at this, all I see is faux-transparency. You weren't aiming for that, were you?
Regardless, I like it.

Thank you for the comment
Indeed I was looking for transparency effects on this one, playing with the thickness of the shape (using distance estimation settings) and with the local and distant fogging.

Hmmmm - not that long, less than a year I think since the image concerned was a Mandelbox
I guess I'm getting old - my idea of "a long time" is much longer than it used to be !!
