Description
This was a watercolor portrait (the last of four semi-identical paintings) of my uncle and the last thing I painted for a few years. My uncle was a huge inspiration in my life and he died very suddenly without warning in September of 2017. My uncle was an amazing man. He worked for NASA for a good portion of my life (and gifted me a very old refurbished NASA computer as my first computer.) He taught me how to assemble computers, bought me my first telescope, introduced me to DnD, and snuck me and my brother a Playstation (with FF8) which ignited my love of gaming and art. Six years later and I still miss him immeasurably.
The painting may not be my best work (I remember feeling very distraught and harried after my family-- who'd disowned me-- begged for me to paint portraits of my uncle for the memorial so they each could have one. I forgot to paint one for myself though...) but I'm still very fond of it.
