Description
The second "tile" for the pixeldome project.Colourised slightly differently than Pixeldome 1- Malibu, because that was WAY too glarey!
I'm still new to this, so any constructive comments are greatly apprectiated
And come on- it's got penguins!... Who doesn't love penguins?!!
I really had a lot of fun with this one- Enjoy!

I think the trick with pixel snow is to make your landscapes angular, and definitely try to dither the crap out of as much as humanly possible. This was my 2nd attempt at pixel art, so i'm sure there are many others out there who have done a better job at snow- just keep an eye out in the galleries

I have seen allready alot of snow on DA, but this one is the best, because it looks like alot of snow, and not just a tiny coating...

Neat. Only you don't need the "Click download to full view" thing in the description, clicking full view works fine.
My only crit is the black outlines around stuff within the work, around the outer edge looks ok as it helps it stand out, but... I dunno... maybe for the ice/snow parts, where there's like, a pile of snow, maybe don't use a black outline all the way around it... y'know?

You're right about the download button- this piece was submitted ages ago when DA had just had a revamp, and animated gifs werent displaying properly!
I'd have to agree with you on your black outline comment- it's a bad habit I need to break. Black is a trap many unskilled pixellers fall into- I just need to take the time to learn the discipline properly and find my style.

Thanks indiochink! When I started pixelling I had no idea what scale most people used. It was acually another deviant that suggested I was working smaller than most. It's a challenge to work so tiny!
