Age: 340+
Gender: Male
Job: Courtesan
Species: Aosaginohi - Blue Fire Heron
☠ Identity ☠
Personality:
Goals-orientated | Adaptable | Romantic | Playful
Image-concious | Evasive | Hesitant | Obedient
With a practiced smile and a careful poise it seems like Minazuki is always sure of his next step or next sentence. He knows his profession well and takes pride in doing it properly. He doesn't like taking shortcuts and doesn't like the types who short change their clients, or merchants who do shady deals. Though he wants to be pragmatic Minazuki can get swept up in romance stories and can daydream.
He likes to be in control of his outer image and is very concious of how he appears to others - he believes he knows what suits his face and his persona and usually sticks to it in public. He keeps himself on a short leash and tends to conceal his less serious sides; at his heart he's still a young soul who wants to be untidy and playful. Minazuki wants to wear soft clothing and slouch in private and he likes informal people, or wayward people who perhaps don't seem to match the initial air he gives off. He's uncomfortable about discussing money and will usually only accept clients who've settled their account long before they meet with him.
Lore:
Originally an ordinary little heron living on a river bank he would catch his fish where he pleased. He survived this way and that and grew old enough to transform into an Aosaginohi - glowing faintly blue in the moonlight and able to exhale little puffs of gold dust to light his way. Suddenly a fine pet, he found that he was caught by the son of a family who's carp pond he was trying to fish in. He was kept for a time by the daughter there who would carry him around her home at night instead of a lantern. He was well fed and warm, if perhaps a little restrictied in the little cages. His mistress would catch the gold dust he exhaled and though he didn't understand it at the time she would use it to buy her jewellery. By the time that the jewellers in the town realised that their bags of gold dust were suddenly empty and came to think that there might be something suspicious happening, the debt was already big enough to ruin the household.
Minazuki wasn't sure what happened to the family but he did know he was given to one of the jewellers as part of the repayment. Here he wasn't treated nearly so well, he could be considered the source of the man's woes and Minazuki didn't even really know why that was. When the man found that everything he tried to do to make the gold stay failed, Minazuki was sold on again.
Before he was able to take a human form Minazuki found himself sold and passed around. Either he was a curiosity to entertain, or he was a purse for a conman who didn't mind that the gold they paid their bills in would be soon disappeared. Minazuki had been sold and bought, traded, betted and lost... he came to understand that the way of the world was like this for many people and things. Money makes it go around, but money makes people unsavory. The necessity of it was only matched by his distaste for it.
When he did gain a human form, he was suddenly more difficult to manage; harder to feed, bigger to keep... capable of talking back to his masters. All of a sudden they didn't like their purse talking back. He changed hands more frequently, to even worse masters who couldn't care less about the people they employed or manipulated. Being owned became unreasonable once he gained a human mind, then it was illogical, then it was repulsive. The only thing he really found appealing at this time was the books he was able to read; taught how by earlier, kinder masters he picked through what he could; a good escape.
Finally his obedient nature reached it's limit and he took himself away. With his wings long since clipped he walked out of his situation and into the street and away, with what he had with him when he was close enough to the door to run, after hos current master took a fall down some stairs.
Thus for a time he wandered this way and that, and did this and that, and picked up scraps to live. By and by he found his way into the settlements of yokai he learned certain things here and there - enough cooking to be dangerous, sweeping and cleaning, little skills that you need to get by as you took little temporary jobs from the people you felt you could trust.
When he found his way to Ayakashi he felt like it was overdue to have a more permanent place. He took a little job in the brothel there, but was able to rise through the ranks to his current position.

☠ Extra Notes ☠
Ability:
He can exhale gold dust. If exhaled into the air it will collect into a little ball and provide a light for a time before blowing away. If collected, it acts just like normal gold dust but it's impossible to keep hold of; it always seems to leak out of it's container, or blow away or just... disappear. If you're able to collect a lot, it will last longer but it never lasts longer than a week and a day.
Height: 179cm
-He likes to collect little things; though he appreciates elegant things and clearly has an eye for style, he likes things that are ugly-cute, funny, or kitchy.
-When it comes to fighting he's just no good. He'd rather talk, or run.
-He likes romance novels, it's these that he collects the most.
-He's worked hard on his courtesan skills and is capable of a range of entertainment skills
-He gets sick easily with chest colds and similar; perhaps it's the gold dust...
