I wasn't worried about there original colors that much. Seeing how its not going to be published. I normally only go strictly by the right colors if its requested by the commissioner, or if its going to be published.

nice benny...for once your texture looks perfect on violator...hehe u just use the textures too much normally...but here u made it nice and lite...i think u could have done a better job on the cape though...like added shades to all the folds!!!the green glow came out great...dunno why u colored the bg green...it takes away from the glow!! but i like it alot!

yeah I agree but I had to crank out tons of anime stuff so I needed to be able to do it fast, and I needed to use something that wouldn't bleed with my markers when I colored.
I need to get more brushes & another cartooning pen kit before I can start really inking again.. I already promised Anna her Kiani would be inked old school, just like the Spawn pic.

Hmm cool beans. I think anime can have the digital inking style and still look fine. Personaly I think the feel of Comicbooks needs a little more artistic style to it.

I've never tried digital inking, I prefer to have my hands doing it. With the anime stuff I use a multiliner, which is a pen with india ink in it, but it works more like a fine tip marker, I have a few different tip sizes & a few brush tips, but they just aren't the same as using tech pens, brushes nibs & India Ink

they kind of look like felt tip markers really, the most common one is the Micron pigma pen, which are pretty easy to find, the ones I use are copic multiliners, because of the Copic color markers I use, the blacks never bleed with the colors.. just a bit expensive because they come from Japan, but I can get them locally.. they cost about $5 each

yeah I think so too, she is a really good artist, she just needs more confidence.. I'm working on it believe me..lol I hope we get the book done in time for the big con next year I think that would be really good for her & show her she has what it takes to make it if she really wants it bad enough.

I am working on putting togeather a good portfoio for nov. And I think Anna wants to do the same. Do you have any suggestions on how to do that? We have never put one like this together.

Well.. that depends on what kind of portfolio you want to put together, I'll assume for the moment that it will be for coloring. Basically I would put together some of your best colored pieces, but make sure you have some sequential colored pages, they'll want to see more than just pin-ups. You don't necessarily have to show the original B&W art, but it doesn't hurt. If you don't have any sequential pages that you've done let me know & I'll scan some of the Top Cow B&W stuff I have... I have Fathom, Witchblade, Magdelena & one or 2 more which would show how you work with different artists.
