I'm working on a little project of a fantasy wall calendar, doing artwork for each one with whatever comes to mind for that month. (Ideally, I'd like to have it finished for 2007, but we'll see.)

I couldn't think of a better creature to start a new year off with than a phoenix. I wanted to try to work a phoenix into a winter scene. Decided to go more with white and gold compared to redder fire tones for the bird. I think it looks bright and new, and contrasts with the snow, but not so much that it doesn't fit in the scene.

Snow is a real pain to work with for some reason. I may tweak this more before I finish the calendar, but I'm mostly happy with it. I just wanted to post something to let everyone know I'm still alive
