I see this ice fishing shack every summer perched precariously on a group of boulders in the middle of Greenlake, near Ellsworth, Maine. My husband remembers it just like that from his childhood. We don't know if anyone ever uses it in the winter or if it is abandoned. Notice the high water marks on the boulders. Something about the building and the lone tree keeping company out there all by themselves reminds me of a Salvador Dali painting. We can't get too close without wrecking the prop on the boat so one day maybe we can explore by kayak but that's a loooonnngg way to paddle.
