Description
Finally! And this, guys and gals (and everything in between) is my most detailed colored pencil piece yet, and one I'm actually satisfied with. Maybe I'm even a bit proud. At least of some parts...
And look - water and ice! It's very long since I've drawn anything resembling a stream, and it's a lot of fun. Maybe some more, some day in the future.
To the detail: This thing is detailed. This is a previously posted detail photo:
The photo here is rather bad, but I just wanted to post it now The colors are a bit off. I'll try to get a better photo as soon as I can. The only disadvantage of Norwegian winter is that it's often too dark to take photos in daylight...
EDIT: A much better photo!
Prints etc. found on my redbubble shop: www.redbubble.com/people/Beckyβ¦

Time spent? At least 50 hours. An example of "the most time you spend on a realistic drawing, the more detail you get". And "next time I'll take an easier background".
Done on A3, with colored pencils.

Everything about this piece is absolutely stunning! The amount of work and detail you put in the piece really shows. It's definitely your best piece by far. The way you drew the focus to the wolf by making the foreground the most detailed and clear was very well done. The lighting and shadows are well done too. The piece is very realistic and looks like a photo at first glance! I really enjoy the style. There isn't much that could improve it significantly as it's already very very good, however, I might try giving more space on the right side of the wolf. Since the subject's motion/action in the piece, is moving towards the right, it is always good for composition to give more space or breathing room in that direction, or it may seem more cramped. I don't find that much of an issue here though. One more thing, which is also very minor, when I look at the piece, my eyes are drawn to the body of the wolf. You did a very good job in making sure the subject is the focus of the drawing but somehow the body draws your eyes and attention more than the head. Playing around with lighting, contrast, and detail can help you achieve a better affect in that, and make sure the body doesn't draw more focus than the head. Don't take my advice to seriously, they're just my two cents on it, and I'm still a learning artist myself. This drawing is already beyond incredible! You did a very good job ^.^
