Long ago before the first mages, Humanity had to deal with an interdimensional species known as the Fae, who had habits of meddling with mortal affairs. Merlin was born in Carmarthen and over his life had many encounters throughout his life with Fae creatures. He grew as a classical druid before eventually a new species visited Earth, a species that was the enemy of all fae creatures. The dragons. Merlin would eventually meet one of the Great Dragons known as Kilgharrah, who he would befriend. Over time Kilgharrah would grow to trust Merlin and would teach him the secrets of magic in an exceptionally powerful variant of the Mage ritual that bathed Merin in Mana. Merlin emerged as one of the most powerful human mages to ever exist, and through magic would grow to become an influential character in medieval Briton. Merlin was placed into stasis by one of his students who he trained in the art and usage of magic, Merlin however, a notorious skirt chaser, would fall prey to his student and be placed into an old tree for hundreds of years before resurrected in the modern day and discover that mages had survived into the modern day. Merlin himself is a Wizard, a particular class of Mage known for experiments in magic and being a level far above Archmages due to his own mystical anatomy being altered by mana. Merlin would go on to heal and revive the old King of Mages, known as King Aurthur who would unite the Mages across the world. Despite bing an ally of the Dragons, Merlin is known to have had allies among the Fae themselves, who live in a region of the Wyrd they called Avalon. It was here that King Aurthur was kept as he healed from the Battle of Camlann against Mordred. Merlin continues to aid Arthur to this day.

Powers, Skills, and Abilities

Magic - Merlin is by far the most powerful Mage on earth, being far more gifted in magic than many (But not all) Dragons. Merlin's powers are difficult to fully describe, but at his height, he could destroy whole armies with but a thought.

Mana Based Physiology - The specific ritual Merlin used to summon the Arcana King was notoriously powerful, though it's exact specifics are lost to time, it is known by the Dragons who guard it fiercely. This ritual bathed Merin in Mana and left his mark. Mana flows through his veins and has tinted his skin a highly unusual purple color. This physiology allows Merlin to be nearly indestructible to all known forms of mundane damage. This unusual physiology also causes several quirks with Merlin, most notably he visibly ages backwards until youth upon which he wakes the next day as an old man to age in reverse once more in endless cycles.

Immortality - Merlin is completely Immortal and indestructible to all known forms of damage with the single exception of magic and potentially psionics.

Prophesy - Merlin is mildly Psionic and possesses the ability to see the future through the Collective Unconsciousness and uses this in his schemes.
