Learn more about Locks hereOne of the doodles from the last character sketchdump.
Aryian and Tio.
Natural state sizes are relative, Locks can be any size within range of their willpower. If their natural state size actually reflected will strength they’d be incredibly massive. Planetary systems would be pebbles to them, if not grains of sand. And they in turn would be mere pebbles to Aryian and the other indomitable wills. Fortunately they don’t travel full size - instead they’re pretty condensed and concentrated.
Comfortable interaction size is however big one needs to be to fit most of whatever they’re interacting with in their mouths.
I thought it would be neat for Tio to be strolling along and see Aryian at a larger size than usual passing by. He’s probably telling Ary to get down there and be a size that’s more easy to speak with, hahaha.

I just love this one. I think it's the combination of the full natural form visible in the picture and the lovely texture... plus, Ary totally looks like he could eat that entire chunk of rock in one bite.

It just occurred to me that the Locks resemble Crom Cruaich from the movie "The secret of Kells". They work on a similar principle, although I like your design better.

So I'm not scared of silly monsters with giant teeth and long claws and all that, but this. This actually scared the crap out of me, literally jumped off my chair! Just seeing the size comparison, I'd drop dead if I met one of these on my way of awesome adventures. Still shaking, but yet, it's kinda cute. I envy your imagination. Keep up the great work!

Your creatures have such unique and sleek design. This kind of looks like a leach and the part where the body breaks into strands is pretty gross, but I guess that's the intention.

About that, can Locks in their natural states speak in ways that humans would understand, or do they communicate telepathically or without words and more in feelings?
