Looking at the pink petals drifting to the seemingly unending brick road before him, Quinn found himself incredibly happy and sad at the same time. He loved the sight - he loved how warm everything looked with the red bricks and the pink everything-else, how warm everything felt in the dots of light that passed through the (covered in pink) branches, how warm he felt, being able to enjoy it all with seemingly no worries. But he felt the bitter sting of wanting someone was there to share it. And not just anyone - he realized with a start that he missed his family. Or perhaps he was more surprised about the fact he actually admitted it to himself. It hadn't even been that long and he'd already changed so much - and the thought itself made him feel even warmer inside. Catching a falling flower, he decided to take his own advice for once. "I need to apologize," he muttered, smiling down at the pink blossom cupped in his hand. So that next time, they could all enjoy the heartwarming sight together.

This was a beautiful nightmare. I didn't realize there was a timer on the homepage, so I just assumed that as long as I submit it today (12.04.2015), I still have time to do it in the morning and stuffs. So then I discovered the timer and now I have not slept for more than half an hour on the couch, half-hugging a borrowed tablet, and have spent the time I haven't been drawing on pushing cats off my lap so I can draw.
Submitted it just in time, too - seven minutes before the deadline. I really hope my late submit doesn't mean it doesn't get accepted. If I had looked more closely and realized there's a timer, I would've just blown off my D&D session and finished this instead.

But I never would have made it without , who helped me with the background and pose-reference~! Thanks, girl, you're the absolute best!

But basically, Quinn is totally into the cherry blossoms. His hometown didn't have many, so he was looking forward to seeing the cherry trees in Japan. So here he is, enjoying the wonders of the pink flower-shower. //shot
Originally, I decided that because he's the type to miss friends and family a lot, he'd get homesick and go home for the break. It would also be a good chance to show off the other brothers (all of whom have established ages, jobs, appearances and personalities). But then I decided he's still too stubborn to do that, and Quinn standing dramatically in a petal-shower in what is akin to a shoujo heroine's style came to me like a vision, so this happened instead.

It didn't turn out quite as I expected (and the perspective is probably trippy, I don't know why I thought bringing in foreshortening was a good idea), but it's still much better than it could have gone. If I have time and energy later on, I will probably update with a better version. Because I want to. I mean, I had a lot of plans for this. I wanted to do several versions of it - with pastel base-colors and screentone textures, a very painting-like one, one that looks like a screenshot from an anime... But I'm probably keeping the lineart for coloring practice, because this is my first decent lineart with a working tablet, so it's precious.
