An entry for Cailiosa's BE contest ([[link] ), to replace my earlier entry. I like this one better as a contest candidate.

This was a lot of work for something so simple. I did the sketches in pencil -- one of the girl, one of the transporter tech and console -- and then inked and scanned them separately. Then I struggled with PSP for quite a while to get them sized and located and on the correct layers with the background. The breakthrough came in the use of "multiply" for the line drawings, and then in some aggressive magic-wand selections and deletions. Whew! Coloring was a snap after that! Starting off in 2Kx2K size and then reducing to the final size made everything look nice and smooth, though the computer sure ran slow with those big images.
