Still needs some more work to get it where I want it, but this is a relatively raw concept of the Ovemi a traditional, family/clan oriented warrior race in Galaxide. I’m still deciding whether to give them 2 or 4 hands—-to help their “elite in old age”. In order to earn status, and reproductive capabilities, males and females constantly engage in non lethal violence against other member of the can and against enemies. When they emerge victorious, they secrete growth hormones and a resin that replaces injured common skin with more durable leathery scales that grow mostly in anatomical harmony. When they know they are in a growth stage some even scarify their own skin in traditional fashion to develop a natural body armor by the time they reach a standard breeding age. Weak females and males stay sterile, and are mostly intimidated to serve leading members of the tribe. I also plan to keep developing a proposed head shell that enables them to charge at enemies with their heads fully protected. In a lizard rhino-fashion.
