This one took me some time because I wanted her dress to be a certain color. I, luckily, found a marker tone that would work. It's this purple, gray color that just fit the tone I wanted.

Originally when I drew this image I always thought of "fog" as my color contrast. Lately in Vancouver, WA it's been pretty foggy. I wanted to showcase this color contrast with the feeling of fog hovering over you as you stare out into the distance. It's as if the figure is in the forest. The object on the right hand side of the image is supposed to be trees but my art teacher back in HS taught me that if you have an organic object you can delude the viewers eye by allowing them to feel some connection with your piece without showing them recognizable objects. That's called "abstract art." I love abstract images or objects. Organic is a better word for it.
