Description In the locations view photos would be grouped by where they were taken, kinda like a smart folder. The map that you can see underneath the toolbar in the bottom mockup is like the profile covers in Google+, where you can scroll further up and see the whole map.

Edit 23/1/2013:
Now shows all the views, added a "normal" thumbnail view.

Edit 24/7/2013:
Has a sorting thingy.

Maybe the exact location could be shown on a small map in a side pane along with meta-data similar to the way it looks when you view photo details on Google+

Why not try white version? I like new Mockup of SpiceofDesign for maps app... It seems to be very bright. I like it!

Dark theme is used to put focus on the photos. Other existing photo managers such as Shotwell and iPhoto do the same thing.

These were taken in Britain by Ian Hex actually, just using them as placeholder images. plus.google.com/photos/1125468...

Pretty sweet. There seems to be some items on the toolbar of the second shot which don't need to be there (like the shadow behind Winnipeg being wrong).

I think he is talking about the second mockup, where maps is hidden below the toolbar.

Upon closer inspection is just where there is an overlay over the map. I would suggest either removing it for a cleaner look or making the toolbar more transparent so that the map shows through more clearly.
