Many times when we look back 100 to 200 years ago, storybooks were full of tall tails and propaganda. Many writers made up stories to make their books larger than life and full of excitement and adventure. That's how Davy Crockett became such a great American legend and hero; through story telling. He was written into history that way, and on television too. Hard to say how much is true or false, but we do know some book authors twisted the truth, and some twisted it a lot!
