My telephoto lens actually gives me great focus. But it's very heavy
& most of the time it's my weakness which gives me poor focus.

I know what you mean. I've used a monopod and a tripod, which help but does restrict movement a little. It's nice to have one handy though because there are some shots that are just too difficult handheld.
I remember resting the heavy lens on my daughter's shoulder once, to get the shot...
