Thanks Heatstroke. I'd have a hard time choosing too. The all held different emotions for me.

The circles are amazing! I love how they're intertwined with one another. And the jewel with the wings, oh, so beautiful!

barbieq25 In reply to HelenLight [2011-01-02 22:46:42 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Helen. The intertwining is made much easier after watching Sargon's video tute. The wings are a part of the Archimedes designs. Sometimes when I create something but it's not quite what I want for that image I'll save it to use it for later.

The shadows are so incredibly important for depth & realism that I will agonise over it for hours. Thanks so much Chrisco.

Where do you live in Australia? I hope the weather is treating you better than the poor folk in Queensland.

Rockhampton in Queensland...things are pretty bad here. While our house is safe there are so many who are not & I've had a good cry. It is heartbreaking. Further south where we moved from about a year ago, the farmers battled drought & lost so much. Now they have lost even more. The effects of this disaster will be felt for some time. I might give an update on my journal, depending if I can face it again. I avoid the news.

Thanks so much for for your concern

Oh I'm so sorry you are living through that.
My husband says they have sent in the army. At least I hope people can be rescued quickly now.
Waiting on your roof must be a terrible experience.

There is someone here who lives on the side of Mount Warning. She used to be an ecological expert for the local government in wetlands. She told me a couple of years ago that there would be trouble of all sorts in the area and advised on safety measures. No-one listened to her. She is disgusted that informed advice is not taken seriously.

You must feel bad to have moved to a place with such a problem. Take care.

It wouldn't have mattered - most of Queensland is affected but other parts of the globe are experiencing similar things. Water, snow, fire or never-ending drought.

Yep, people build in the silliest places & people like the woman you mentioned are rubbished as rat-bags. Some people see wetlands as something useless...but they are critical otherwise they wouldn't exist in the first place. Then they wonder why...

I know that this woman predicted the drought and major problems with storms. She's retired now and trying to find ways of forgetting what she knows to obtain some sort of peace of mind.

This is very good, the rings look like they're gold, as do the wings.

The government has no control over the elements. It is hard to imagine just how much of our state is flooded. 850,000 square kilometres. It is bigger than the state of Texas!

Thanks for the link I went to check it out , nice Gallery . I faved her Chihuahua photo , that is unbelievable . Another huge problem would be after the water goes down the houses are going be no good , all the molds and stuff this happened with the people after Hurricane Katrina struck .

Yep. Sargon gave some great advice on Fans re the mould. Floods are not covered by insurance unless you buy a premium so high that it costs nearly as much as replacing everything.
