Description

Boulder Beak ( C )

Species: Gastornis maximus

Class: Beast

Habitat(s): Taiga, Tundra, Redwood, Grasslands

Diet: Herbivore

Boulder Beaks are large flightless birds that can be found in snowy, forested or vast grasslands. As large as a horse, Boulder Beaks are swift and agile to run from predators.

Boulder Beaks are herbivorous mostly eating hard nuts and seeds, they tend to favor pinecones the most. Though Boulder Beaks are herbivores they will attack if threatened, usually kicking and pecking.

They're hard to tame but with enough effort, and pinecones, most can tame as well as ride Boulder Beaks.

At first, I thought Gastornis was a carnivore in the early Eocene epoch, but now it's a plant eater which is a big surprise.

I like to imagine these Guys as like giant grounded Parrots.

Heck I can even picture Them with the color marking of a Parrot, or even a Macaw.

well, gastornis isn't a terror bird that title belongs to the phorusrhacids...which gastornis isn't apart of, also it has been researched that it is more of a herbivore.

I never thought about the possibility of Gastornis eating pinecones, but now that you bring it up, it seems kinda obvious. Great work!
