I was wondering...what did you use for your plane material settings?I'm getting the glow but there is some noise.I've tried different background materials(bricks etc.)but they are too dark.

The plane was just the default material with a white color. Noise could be caused by the number of photons you set?

oh yes this is 3d studio max 7. sorreh heh..
in the materials window, there are 4 check boxes - 2-sided, wireframe, , i can't remember the last two...
in 3ds, click "render" under "file, edit... etc" and select "Video Post".
your cyan material needs to have a material ID (it's all inside the materials window, mouseover to see the description of each button). I set the material ID to 2, it can be any number.
In Video Post, select the correct material ID that will be affected and apply a glow, play with settings till you get what you want. I mentioned "use sparingly" because I tend to overdo it LOL.
i'll try to do a walkthrough to show how Video Post was used here if there's anything else please don't hesitate to ask !! 👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the other material is just cyan with 100% [EDIT] SELF ILLUMINATION [/EDIT]
because this material is only 1-sided, light [EDIT] FROM [/EDIT]the omnilight passes through it.

omnilight color is cyan.
shadows on.
[APPEND] ADD DECAY SO THAT YOUR LIGHT PROJECTIONS FADE INTO THE DISTANCE INSTEAD OF HAVING A SHARP, CONSISTENT PROJECTION [/APPEND]
