Nice design. Can I ask to use this as base design for a school project I am doing?

I started 3d'ing at 41.4 yrs young (4 being + 4 months) I'm now 41.9 years young. Never to late to self teach, good for the brain and sometimes the wallet.

All the guys on DA are amazing both as creaters of 3D images and advice. Quality all round.

Great effort badnugly, very nice indeed.

thank you for visiting my page.
you're right. it is never too late to start 3D or one can always say it is better late than never.
when i bought the current pc rig about 2 years ago, i spent most of my time playing games with it.
but later on i felt that instead of spending 3 - 4 hours daily on games, i might as well used it for something more useful.
i started with poser 7 and then c4d. now, i can also do things with vue and 3ds max..but only basic stuffs lol.

again, thanks for commenting.

wow man, almost forgot to check my deviation notices lol. this is seriously amazing work man. especially considering you've designed it all yourself. i remember fooling around with sketchup before, but it only lasted a few hours lol. was finding that architecture wasn't my strong area. but i always have these thoughts of wanting to design my interiors and using characters in them. interesting how you use so many variations of lights with vray. usually for me i've only ever needed to use the standard vray light and vray sun. for me personally, using the 3d max omni, area, and spot lights gives less than realistic results when using vray. not sure why. maybe just my lack of understanding of the max standard lights. but that sure didn't seem to be the case here. you made just about every light work perfectly for this scene. even more impressive you even did all your own furniture. good job on that. man, you got me eager to see your next few WIPs, and it's even better seeing you ACTUALLY uploading stuff. i'll be keeping my eyes peeled for your next uploads.

many thanks buddy. architecture is also not my strong area. but while doing the vray indoor lighting for poser v4 i realized that i have to understand vray better to make a more realistic skin render. and having spending so much time on the same thing, so i decided to take a break and did this interior with no sun light and play around with different type of lights and render settings. the idea was to make a studio type of lighting for my v4.

this scene was supposed to be for training only but later changed my mind and textured it properly and uploaded it here. and you're right about me not having any new stuffs here lately. been busy doing tutorials for vue, vray and c4d. i will definitely bombard kreadreams with questions about vue lol.

many thanks again for stopping by.

lol, hit 'em hard man. he definitely seems eager to help and definitely seems he knows his stuff. too bad sebalon wasn't to be found. he definitely had a solid grip on vue as well. but hey, if you ever need any help with them skin materials on V4, i'd love to try and lend a hand. I think i'm coming to grips with this fast subsurface scattering in vray now which really makes like the night and day difference on the models. still a little rough around the edges, but getting there.

take care and i'll be watching your spot!

Edmund-B [2010-08-15 05:30:40 +0000 UTC]

looking nice. a couple of notes

the lights on the wall dont all seem to be identical. specially the one on the right. a good idea is to pick the best looking one, group it with the light and clone it around

u also might wanna increase anti-aliasing before u render on vray. look at different results.

this is all just an opinion. no hard feelings. i'm sure u will enjoy experimenting.

and thanks for the tips. i will definitely enjoying experimenting.

This is really really good! I hear 3D programs are very hard to get used to and even once you're used to them that they are still difficult to use! So you've gotta be pretty awesome to make something like this!

The layout and design of the room is all around amazing! The indoor lighting also works really well and the perspective is great too!

[I never got to see the movie you've got in the background on the tele, but I know what movie it is!!] lol

yep. 100SeedlessPenguins already has amazing gallery despite being very new at 3D .
you can always start too by coloring your comic using ps or psp.

Is that short for photoshop? I'm really bad at knowing shorthand for somethings. ;__; I'm actually supposed to be getting photoshop and a tablet sometime either at the end of 2010 or th middle of 2011! Which makes me excited. However, first I want my own computer... lol. There's only two in my house. A laptop and a desktop. Both are PCs. I'm getting a 17 inch macbook I need some practice ;__; I don't even know how to colour/draw with any kind of computer program or tablet.

ooppss. my bad. ps - photoshop and psp - paint shop pro.
once you get the mac book and ps , i'm pretty sure you would know how to color in a few days time. you still can draw using traditional style but color it in ps. most comic artists are doing it that way. marvel and DC same technique. check my favorite images by other DA artist. there is one comic artwork there.

Ahhh, alright. Now I see what you mean. And that's alright I never get abbreviations or shorthands ever. ;__; I need to learn them at SOME point. xDD

Believe it or not, I never read any comics on DA. I read only two, but as far as I know, the two comics I read make their pages just as you had mentioned. They draw them traditionally and colour in paint/photoshop.

The two comics I read are Boxer Hockey by ~MechanicalPenguin and Distillium by my friend ~picklekitty .

lol..that was fast. 3D programs are not really that hard actually. i've learned 3D less than a year now and i still can make something decent like this. i believe if you start now at a young age, you could be a 3D guru in no time. pretty sure a lot of helper here at DA that can give you a tip or two.

watch the movie. if you're animation fan, don't miss it.

Thepuzzlegirl In reply to badnugly [2010-08-15 02:09:50 +0000 UTC]

You're probably right on that one. Usually starting something at a young age helps you as you grow older since you learned how to use everything already. Also, most scientists say that you learn quicker when younger (personally, I agree with that statement) so I would think that if you learned well younger you might have an addvantage. xDD lol.
DA's a good community of people They'd probably give tips or have a tutorial for it somewhere.

I know I lvoe animations, butt here are still some I've wanted to see that I haven't been able to. ;__;
