Panthera Aptenodytes leo, or Liguin, was created at lab site [REDACTED] by Professor Quinn on December 04, [REDACTED] by artificially combining the DNA of Aptenodytes forsteri (emperor penguin) and Panthera leo leo (West African lion). This hybrid was designed to retain the Aptenodytes forsteri's aquatic capabilities whilst providing a more aggressive way to combat predators such as Hydrurga leptonyx (leopard seal) and Orcinus orca (killer whale) so that it may potentially be used for [REDACTED] missions.

Panthera Aptenodytes leo is a large species with noticeable differences between males and females. Both males and females retain the overall body shape and coloration of the Aptenodytes forsteri with white underbellies and black backs and heads. The thick fur around the neck is golden in color and thicker on adult males. Juveniles are an off-white with black heads and pale golden fur around the neck and belly. It has forelimbs similar to Panthera leo leo but with flat flipper-like webbing along the length of the forelimbs and webbed appendages, increasing swimming capabilities.

This hybrid is carnivorous with sharp teeth located inside the beak used to consume smaller animals, shrimp, krill, and with a preference for fish. They are social, living in large groups of over 50 individuals and counting. Like Aptenodytes forsteri, males tend to the eggs and offspring while females hunt for food.

This hybrid is Rank 3, only displaying aggression towards predators and other aggressive threats. They work together to combat larger predators until the threat is either chased away or neutralized. Neutralized threats then become food for the colony.

This hybrid is level 2 on utility, displaying some potential for usefulness in Project [REDACTED] and therefore will be moved to site [REDACTED] and placed under supervision of Professor Rackam.
