1943 Charleston, South Carolina: Little Susie wanted to do more for the war effort, so she went to the Navy recruiting office. To humor Susie, the Lieutenant and her assistant allowed Susie to show her rope skills on them. They thought it was funny when the gags were applied but then the knots were cinched tight. Playful testing of the ropes turned to concern as the wrists, ankles, and torsos remained firmly bound. Unable to free themselves, both ladies listened to Susie's reasoning as to why she would make a good WAVE. Obviously being disqualified due to age regulations, the Lieutenant thought that she could appoint Susie as an Honorary WAVE, in hopes that she would untie both ladies, before the Woman Marine recruiter returned from lunch.
