Description I love this scene in the movie, just because it is so touching. Elves really do cry.

wow, youve got some AMAZING texture in this picture! i like how youve actually done the lines in her face...ive seen so much art where they illimate the face lines to make it look smoother. the blue looks great, im glad you drew this!

Thanks muchly! That was one of the faster ones, hence the lines. But I loved that scene so much and I was hankering for a different color besides graphite.

Thanks. Liv Tyler's face is very difficult to get right, I have found. The top of her head is a little screwy-wonkess I have found, but that is because I had to make it up. . thus why I am not showing it. hehehe

Thanks! I think it is one of my better ones too! Ummm, I do have a Gandalf one up if you didn't see it. . .but, then again I might be totally confused and have no idea what you are talking about. .

Anyhoo, I used the blue cause I felt like doing something in color and blue seemed to fit the emotion and feeling of the scene. . and plus it was a lucky coincidence. . tee-hee

u hav written "Hopefully in a couple of days or so, I will have the full thing up." in gandalf comments, so i thought maybe it is an even bigger sketch.........

i am still wondering how blue is an emotional colour

Ahh, I see what you mean now. . yes it is larger. . okay, so yes. .

Well, for me, blue has always been a color I have associated with sadness and depression. . it is a beautiful color (my favorite to be exact) but I have always felt it to be a sad color too. Red and orange and yellow are bright and cheerful colors and blue a sad one. But that is how I have perceived them.

I really like how you chose to work in blue pencil for this one. The outcome is beautiful.
However, one thing I'd like to see you do is to draw your own interpretation of the characters. But that's just me because I prefer the books by a long-shot.
But again your work is really great.

I have tried several times to do my own interpretation, but it doesn't quite translate that well onto paper. . and the movies have warped the images somewhat

I think I need to read the books again and start from square one. I love the books too and have been a fan of them for years (I used to be completely in love with Aragorn's character in the books). . .so maybe that's what I will do.

Thanks for the comment!

Beautiful! I did an Arwen from that scene, but I'm currently redrawing a new version Really awesome job! Her eyes are just gorgeous. Did you use colored pencil?

Thank you! Yes, I did use a blue colored pencil, the exact name of the color I can't quite remember. . . it was a Prisma and basically used the whole pencil. . .but it was well worth it .

aaaaaaah I love this. I saw it when I went to pick up Teeny. Aaaaaaah nice! Too bad the big picture can't be seen. Maybe I could take a picture? Like for tara's Harry Potter?
