Had a few good times there. Used to go every now and then with friends when we had nothing better to do. Was easier than trying to get to Silverlink or town just to see a film and trufully we profered it. Shame not everyone thought the same. Always a bit of a sad feeling when I drive past now.

I used to work there and my friend was the projectionist there.
He still has the keys to the building and pops in once per week to make sure it has not been broken into or flooded etc.
Only a couple of months ago we spent a full day chasing pigeons out of it (What a nightmare that was). Also took some photos of the inside which now looks a right mess, but my photography skills suck to show them off.
I may try taking some more inside after xmas with a decent camera.

Why many thanks! it was great! red velvet curtains, gilded angels... and quite grubby! dirty carpets, sticky floors, but you got that feeling that once it was a quite elegant place!

Don't you hate when that happens? I like old theaters. there are a few shut down near my house, it makes me sad to pass by them.

YES! With older movies and old fashioned ticket booths and everything! And little acts before the movie and an intermission... *rants*

oh yeah and the guy taking your ticket has to wear the little red jacket and cap tied under his chin, and maybe they do some audience participation during intermission!

Oh well some day the world may realize it isn't all about super sizing and cine domes and how many people can we pack in. I don't think things like decadence is gone at some point all this corperate cramming has gotta stop and the people will revolt. and demand community and culture back.
