Description
It was cold and miserable
On that dark and spooky night
I was walking down the street
My destination in sight.

My friend had just left me,
I was all alone
And I was almost
Back to my home

But from an otherworldly source
A noise from down the street
One that was so horrible
It ran right through my feet.

Then from the shadows,
Came a galloping sound
A horse with a rider
And smoke all around.

The horse had eyes
Of a fiery red
Burning and burning
The horse from the dead

With nails in its hooves,
And spikes in ears
Its teeth were like knifes
A creature of fears.

The rider was frightening
Like the darkest of nights
He brought with him death
I froze at the sight

His hands were a symbol
Of a premature grave
Running was useless
And would be done in vain

His weapon was sinister
A sword of grand size
Which he used to cut off the heads
Of those he despised.

But worst of all
Worse than the rest
Worse than his sword,
And the armor on his chest.

Was the emptiness above his shoulders
Where his head should have been
A creature of fear
Is what I had seen

His body faced me
And stared into my eyes
And I felt only cold
Like nothing was inside.

Then out of the darkness
It drew its sword
And the horse screamed out
With a horrible roar

Then as the beast galloped
Adjacent to me
I screamed but nothing
Seemed to come free

He put his arm down
And grabbed at my face
He pulled out my soul,
And rode quickly away

If you do not believe
The tale that I tell
Then you could be the next one
To meet the creature from hell

For in our human nature
The only thing we fear
Is the thing that we cannot see
The sounds that we can’t hear.

Beware the Headless Horseman,
The being from beyond
For he can come and steal your soul
And in an instant, gone.
