Indirectly inspired by the comic whose title I've blatantly stolen: Sympathy for the Devil by =Destikim
Imagine the end of the Agni Kai. Ignore Zuko completely. Katara is a compassionate person: she is NOT going to let Azula stay chained for long. Not in my head. And, as you can see, no chains. Buuuut, I kinda might sort of have to admit that Azula - in all her devastated glory - might be thinking about slamming that fist into Katara's head.
That.... Water Tribe peasant. Touching her... Touching her.... Hmm...

As much as I feel bad for Azula, she brought most of those horrible things upon herself for how she treated her mother, brother, uncle and friends. Now the damage is done.

I'm pretty positive that Azula is so broken and crazy in this moment, that she porbably doesn't even realize what's happening...
...and that's a shame. Such an awesome character, ending up in such an inglorious fall... not that the graphic novels make up for this complete demise: at the end of "the Search", she's so mentally weak that all she can do is run away crying.
Is the Azula we all know and love really gone forever? Cuz honestly, from what we've seen so far, all that's left of the once so feared and almighty Fire Nation Princess is just a broken, lost little girl with no one to turn to.
Well, almost no one. Zuko said he wants to help her... let's hope she gets a proper ending, sooner or later.

Azula deserved better. Pretty much the only monster here was Ozai, and even he had forefathers the deal with...(gasp) Ozai is what Zuko would have become if it wasn't for Uncle!

I love the picture. She's there for Azula in my head canons as well, and because I think Azula respect power I think in some ways she'd respect Katara. That someone who defeated her could turn around and help her might confuse Azula at first but I think it could be healthy for her as well.

Yeah, Katara had a lot of wrath in her, but she a ot more compassion. She only was so angry and unforgiving at Zuko, becouse of what he done at end of the second season...Interesingly Katara and Azula are quite simmilar, being sort of twsted reflections of each other. Great pic by the way

Sympathy for the devil is what I originally meant, although compassion is rather dangerous to possess if you think about it. Katara, it seems, has both; but she's badass enough to deal with it.

Katara has compassion for everyone. It's almost unnatural. But she's so damn badass that I doubt anyone would take advantage of her good nature and get away with it.

This is a great picture and shows just how much mercy Katara has, also this is the first time I could see the posibility of Azula and Katara having a romantic relationship. However I still think Ty Lee would be a better match for the crazy princess, because Katara and Azula both have dominating personalities and would end up fighting a lot. However this could also be what both girls would need in their partners, so it is possible.
