Two fates, literally broken by the golden flowers. The first variant is the result of Chara's plan that failed or just didn't manage to be realised. Chara and Asriel grew up together in the Underground, and afterwards became the new King and Queen. Chara finally got rid of her bad temper, and, even she still didn't like humans, later she might have accepted Dreemurrs loyal attitude to fallen children.
And the second variant is the sad story we all know. The story where they would never reach their "happy ending"...
I always wanted to draw my own version of adult Asriel and Chara. And, besides, in my headcanon Chara is a female.

Yeah Chara for me is also a girl. Love the idea of them becoming king and queen. Wonder if they'd be capable of having children?
But did they escape the underground? There can be no true happy ending without them getting back to the surface world.

I don't like when people ship them, so in my version they're not a pair. Chara and Asriel rule the kingdom like brother and sister, and their relations are analogically like brother's and sister's

Yeah but they're not technically related. So even though they grew up together, it's fine. It's no different than two kids who have known each other since kindergarten becoming a couple later in life.

well in my opinion the fact that they were raised together as siblings makes it weird. Adopted siblings are no less siblings.
But if they were raised separately (Like Aragorn and Arwen from Lord of the Rings as the former was raised by the latter's father Elrond) it's fine.
So if their was an AU where Chara was raised by Asgore some time after Asreil grew up and left home... I would be fine with the ship
