Description Again, pure automotove art. These cars could go 100mph, which was darned fast for a road car back in that say.

And also gorgeous to look at.

Taken at the Simeone Foundation Museum.

Im pretty sure anyone who hate old cars would even fall in love with this beauty!

Is that black car at the very end a Mercedes 300SL by any chance? I love those, only seen one in person. They're pretty rare cars!

Yes. Simeone has two of them, a black and a silver one and I think both are in my gallery.

Forgot the exact name, but its near South Texas. Its alil off the beaten path, but its a pretty good sized museum for something thats almost in the middle of nowhere...

Always loved these, one of the best bits of automotive styling of all time.
Heh, though I'd have loved to see a French body on one of these - Figoni & Falaschi for example.

Also is that a Squire Roadster behind it?

Indeed it is. I have some pics of that in my gallery. Go to Jay Leno's garage website to see more about that exact car as well.

Seen the video, was where I first heard of them as it happens.

Never heard of it, or seen it in any publications, over here oddly enough.

The Squire is an extremely obscure car, almost legendary for its advanced engineering and build quality, which priced it into oblivion, unfortunately.

Classis art-deco styling from this period. Auburns were well-regarded and well-built, I think some of them were capable of speeds in excess of 100 MPH/160KMH, which would have been supercar territory in the late '20's early '30's.

Though I'm not really into cars, I gotta say that the designs are pretty cool. Classic at its finest.

Doc Simeone has a very discerning taste in automobiles, and obviously looked very carefully when he procured these cars over the years.

The Auburns were very well crafted, and I think they came with a plaque certified they were driven to at least 100 MPH by one of their test drivers.
