my first time donning a kigurumi mask and it is mine :3I still got a lot to work on but here the result of the first jump in that new kind of art.
not totally sure it is a good idea to post those here but well one way to test it is to post them here hope i survive it.
*edit* never realized how granny the picture was sorry people.

You succumbing to that stupid kigu-whatever fad, which is not helping humans get out of the uncanny valley. See #4 [link] to see what I mean. That crap is sodding disturbing. I never understood the uncanny valley thing honestly. It is just a mask+a costume and a type of cosplay, nothing more.
Cracked.com like the drug it name is derive from should not be used and not trusted.
frankly I have meet people that barely don't blinks (once per 10 minutes ) and that are totaly emotions less and trust me that is worthy of the scare , a mask is motion less so no surprise there and shouldn't be scary.
if you don't like it then feel free to not look at the pictures, sorry to have offended you but that won't stop me from using my kigurumi mask (i been a fan of those mask long before cracked.com was even thought of)

factual? It is at most manipulated fact to support biases opinion ,also the uncanny valey shouldn't apply to kigurumi since the aim is not to look human but to look like an anime character.

I didn't knew anime was real... Kigurumi is making something real look not real , take a human being change it into an anime character not the opposite.
beeing not open mind as not seeing the craftmenships behind the masks making process, not realizing that it is only a mix of mascots and cosplay(no aim for realism), using an humor site as factual information board(some article with facts don't make all the article hard truth).

Key word "meant," the truth is that people can post completely factual stuff on there that isn't funny at all. Cracked has no regulations. Honestly, those masks look like they're made out of cheap plastic. Furthermore, I've seen way better cosplays that DON'T REQUIRE MASKS, that are have been performed by people that no doubt put more time and effort than any kigurujsisdhfdsf. It's plain terrible because you people aren't really trying to look like a character, just cheaping out when compared to say, Anna Moleva.

lol let me laugh some. No regulation mean "not checking" the info base either. the rest is your opinion, then nothing is stopping me from doing normal cosplay(apart lack of outfit that can be corrected easyly) but it doesn't interest me , the more extrem cosplays involving mask interest me (kigurumi and mecha). Don't forget there are people doing crossplay in both directions so gender is not an issue.

Dude, it's creepy. The masks are set on one single facial expression. It's like you people are trying to bring anime girls into real life by becoming them. Yeah, not creepy at all.

Wow uh, maybe you should try to stop forcing your opinion on others? Don't like it? That's fine! A lot of people think it's creepy.
But if you're gonna march into SOMEONE ELSE'S gallery and tell them they they SHOULDN'T LIKE what they like because YOU don't understand... that's just a supremely shitty thing to do. Who the hell do you think you are to tell someone what they can enjoy? Why are you even arguing? Some people think clowns are creepy, some don't. The same goes with dolls, masks, costumes, rats, bugs, anything.

mask are meant to be one expression only so I don't understand what is creepy about it being one expression O.o(and you are out of dates peoples like Wyu and cicelia winn have ways of having more then one expression on the mask) , If it was Freddy Kruger mask I could understand creepy but anime mask. that is non-senses.

Crossplay is troubling only if you are uncertain of your orientation.
fact ? read the #4 entry you linked to earlier.
1-If you are a person that like mask the act of using a picture of 4 masked person It not really explaining what they see as wrong about wearing a boddysuit and mask to be closer to anime look.

Also Kig exist for 3 decade if not more and there are even professional play in japan like [link] even back in the old sailor moon show they had one too , one piece got a cast of official kigurumi too.
3- What is wrong with a person dancing holding a baguette and how the heck does that mean the one under the mask is male ?
4- Normaly mask are stiff or allow little expression I don't see Them saying people doing cosplay or Ironman, mobilesuit gundam and other mecha as being creepy. Also Emotionless people are way more scary then a one emotion mask and honestly you don't have to walk far to see people what not emotive faces.

sources never saw any listed , they didn't credited the person they used the picture of without asking permission to post them.
If you are simply scared of Masks and mascot, say it. Nothing bad with having fears.
The pictures i post were taken during a pause at an Halloween event in Ottawa, Town hall changed into an hunted house to collect food for the local food bank, of the kids and adults present there only a minority were scared by the masks , we were 3 kigurimi present there.
I knew of kigurumi and been a fan of that cosplay type since 1998-99, I really need a good explanation why kigurumi are supposedly creepy. they don't aim to look realistic human so uncanny valley argument don't work, they are mask so emotion less don't work.
