Awww no. I hate the thought of trees being cut down. What a shame. :/
But this kid's expression is great.

I really like the sort of backstreet feel of this shot. To western eyes - like my own - there is something quintessentially Far Eastern about the scene, although it is difficult to put that into words. It's something to do with the juxtaposition, the shapes and the arrangement of things, built up gradually over many years - even over many generations. It sort of reveals itself in interesting touches - the shapes of the shutters inside the window frames, the tree curiously growing in front of the building and seen through the near derelict entrance. The very old steps with a new ramp made from the concrete which has been poured down them. And of course the old brick wall - nice brickwork, too! - with the greenery growing out of it. To lose all of that in favour of mundane and uniform brand-spanking-newness is a shame, yes.
That's quite a tough and resilient looking kid, by the way. I like his clothes - the colourful patches and stuff.
