Description A fictitious specie I created years ago. I loved doing the moss detail in this picture.

Initially painted on MyPaint in May 2015; cleaned up Aug 5th 2015.

i think this is very cute! it reminds me of an old-fashioned story book illustration, bit like a beatrix potter. the moss is really great, i love how you've pulled it off and made it actually look like moss.Β
blending and mixing white tones with darker tones to create a shadow effectΒ is surprisingly tricky, i've had plenty of difficulty with this but you've managed to overcome this and make it work

nothing much to pick at, apart from the grey background, kinda makes it hard for the lighter parts of the cat/dog (do you have a name for you species?) to be seen, but that maybe that's just my computer screen, could be different on yours.

Thanks for the compliments! Part of the trick to doing the moss was using a "smeary" brush that picks up underlaying colour (the brush in MyPaint is Wet R-S Blend; which I used for the majority of the picture). As for the shading- I've sampled this image on quite a few monitors at this rate, and half of them tend to blast out the softer shading of her fur; which was painted using a calibrated monitor aimed towards painting/photo editing.

Felicanidae is the species, individuals Felicanids. The name "Felicanus" is kind of like naming a cat "Kitty"

It's like a cat but little bit different, right?

A blend between a cat and dog with hand-like paws.
