There's not much else to add about Fillan that I didn't already mention in the blurb on his brother Dunlin. He's got extreme daddy issues, I suppose there's that XD Growing up, their late father told them all sorts of dashing tales of his adventures in the colonial army, and it really left Fillan feeling like he had something to prove. Dunlin was the first to find out that their father made most of it up, however. His mother revealed that he was actually a smuggler playing all sides of the war in order to support the family, and that he didn't want to tell the boys since he thought they'd think less of them. Fillan had already been assigned to be Jefferson's bodyguard before the revelation could be passed on to him, however. Combine this with the idealist philosophies that the Paris diplomats filled his head with while he was separated from all the real fighting and suffering, and you get one pissed off extremist when he returns and finds out that his country has traded one King George for another. Fillan and Dunlin are very much allegorical of the whole "what the Founding Fathers intended" debate. Different timeline, same ugly issues the US has to face.

Design notes, much like his brother, I'm quite happy with the composition of this piece, even if it is an older one. I wanted to design a sort of frontiersman spin on the typical French Revolutionary get up. Robespierre meets Daniel Boone. The pattern on his cape is taken directly from Thomas Jefferson's coat of arms. Normally I find it a little difficult to incorporate heraldry into clothing designs, but I think this one actually lent itself quite well. I can't remember why I made it green. I remember basing it off of something but it was a while ago so I might just be making up something that wasn't actually there. If it rings any bells for anyone, let me know so I can correct myself-
