PERSONALITY
This is a tough one to crack. Conrad appears reserved and unassuming at a first glance. Just a perceptive blue gaze and quiet smile. Getting into a deeper conversation with him however, will show that he extrudes an infuriating sort of cynical confidence.
Conrad prides himself on being far smarter than the average person. Not just book-smart, but intelligently, ingeniously-smart—and he knows it. He has a better memory than most and the capacity to connect the dots very quickly. On the other hand, being able to compartmentalise and see the world as it really is without the trivial onslaught of emotions results in a selfish, utilitarian way of thinking. He cares more about how people affect his plans than how his plans affect people.
A side effect of this attitude therefore, is his unusually efficient way of getting on people’s nerves, and ‘that f**king asshole’ is a repeated, expected and earned nickname.
Probably because Conrad is so accustomed to having or making his surroundings suit him, he has problems allowing himself to accommodate others, especially when he’s invested in an idea or method. He can be stubborn and taut at times. He is also not used to expressing appreciation for the contributions of others, nor does he expect it from anyone. He feels that the successful result should be compliment enough.
Trust doesn’t come easily for this kid. Conrad believes that the only person he can rely on is himself as there is always the chance that someone could let you down, or mess things up. Through observation, he may be able to portray fake emotions and social actions perfectly, too perfectly to be real, in fact, yet he finds it awkward expressing his real feelings, especially those of intimate or sentimental friendship.
Despite his potentially acerbic nature, Conrad does not enjoy conflicts, prefering to resolve disputes by walking away. Which is probably considered avoiding disputes, really. He can however, exhibit quite a demeaning attitude to the other party if he gets into an argument. Come after him, his plans or those he considers friends, his response will be merciless and unforgiving, taking an eye for an eye and then some.
Friends are rare however, as it is hard to get any deeper into his radius than simple acquaintances.
CYCLE 3
Due to Conrad's background in this cycle, his personality is slightly less closed off and rigid, more laid-back and preferring not to draw attention to his academics or achievements, though he will still state matter-of-factly if you clearly suck at something.
FAMILY
Kevon Joseph Warrington (father)
Marie Elle Payne (mother)
BACKGROUND (really suggest you read this instead )
Parents divorced for certain reasons, Conrad’s early childhood was largely spent trying to live up to his father’s high expectations. An ambitious politician, Kevon put his career above everything else, even family. He was the sort of busy father who threw money at his kid to make up for the lack of presence, then checked in at certain times if only to ensure that Conrad was maintaining a proper appearance for the media—behaviour and academics-wise.
Conrad’s progress in elementary and middle school was by all accounts, outstanding. But it seemed like the better he did, the more his father expected of him. Finding out that his son had an interest in tennis, Kevon also insisted encouraged him to pursue the sport competitively, as prizes and awards were good for image. Wanting to impress his father, young Conrad went along with all of it, consistently topping his cohort and training intensely for competition after competition.
Having graduated high school, Conrad then began studying a joint Law & Political Science program in Stanford University as per his father's request. He fell in with a more shady crowd and spent most of his second year hanging with his new friends, high on various substances—almost never in class and barely even sober when he did actually turn up. That year was a complete mess by most standards, but all Conrad was certain about was that it was probably the happiest one of his life so far. Though he somehow managed to make the director’s list in each semester, he also realised he had no interest in his studies whatsoever and actually really hated everything to do with politics.
During the break, Kevon found out about his son’s illicit activities. Conrad however, was done playing the role of the obedient, perfect, over-achieving son, threatening to drop out of school completely if his father insisted on any sort of rehab. Privately, Kevon also did not want word of his son’s misdemeanours reaching the ears of the public, or his son being anywhere near his campaign for governor that year for that matter. Using his family’s reputation as leverage, Conrad then asserted his desire to study something else entirely, agreeing to keep a low profile only if he was allowed to study what he wanted. He then applied to the University of Crestwood, moving to New Hampshire and pursuing a double degree in Architecture and Psychology, glad to be free from his father’s suffocating hold and finally able to play tennis recreationally like he had always wanted to.
Living in UC was very unlike his hometown, for the entire town had not only a completely different atmosphere, but also an unusual reputation for paranormal activity. Normally not one to believe in such things, Conrad’s experience with psychedelics and the like has opened his mind to the many possibilities of the supernatural. He remains fascinated at the prospect of the otherwold, though without any solid, undisputable proof, would not commit to any beliefs.
