✦ Prologue ✦
Born to his mother and Father in their estate outside of Wynsiph in a town called Everbend. There he was born with the name Jacklyn Fangstone, to Lynus and Ivana Fangstone, the richest people in the town. His family seemed happy, but in truth they were anything but, with Lynus Fangstone being an alcoholic who never paid attention to Cake. Ivana wasn't much better, air headed and forgetful, she would chide Cake on wanting masculine clothing and instead buy him dresses and bows, calling him her 'prettiest girl'.

As he matured and grew, his younger sibling Cedric would blame his own poor actions and decisions on Cake, getting his older siblings in trouble with Lynus and Ivana. To the point that one day, Lynus even struck Cake across the face, causing him to flee to his towns Chant for a place to get away from his father and find safety. While there he met the Chants Lantern, and as young people are prone to do, fell head over heals for the charming man who ran the Chant. So much so that he would go there every day not just to escape his parents and brother, but to talk to the Lantern who gave him all of the attention, praise, and love that he felt his parents never did. The Lantern even seemed to reciprocate Cake's puppy love feelings, calling him pet names when he'd visit the chant and bringing him to his room during the night.

All good things must come to an end, as Cake found the Lantern with another common goer to the chant, destroying what little self worth Cake had built up. With his heart shattered, Cake fled to Wynsiph, changing his name to Jack...

✦ His Time in Wynsiph ✦

Cake began living in the Nook when he arrived in Wynsiph, exploring the town as he tried to get a grip on who he was and what he wanted to do. Not allowed to express himself healthily or really at all growing up, he changed his name from Jacklyn to simply Jack, solidifying his transition to being the man he always felt he was.
