They married, and soon had triplets, but Shrek felt he lost his identity and made a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to just be himself for a day. Little did he know that Rumple took the day he was born, so he was never able to rescue Fiona. She ended up breaking free of her tower and became a leader to the rebellion against Rumpelstiltskin, who took her parent's throne.
