XXXXXX

In my earlier Iron Man entries, I mentioned that the original armor wasn't all that combat effective with it being minimally armed and that the steel armor was more like the test type for future armor suits. Well this is the first official Iron Man armor. It's pretty a copy of the steel armor, but it has refined armor plating with a gold finish. This is heavily based on the gold armor Tony wore for a while during his early stories in the 60s and when he first joined the Avengers and the Mark XXI "Midas" armor that was part of the Iron Legion in Iron Man 3. When Tony Stark started to become Iron Man after his fight with Obadiah and Mandarin, he created the Steel Armor to be a complete revamp of the base principle and technology of the bulky and rudimentary Original Armor, using improved resources and new technology and giving it a more articulated and sleek design. However, while it was a vast improvement from its original, the Steel Armor had a dangerous icing problem that immobilized the suit at higher altitudes. He designs a new armor with a gold-titanium alloy so that wouldn't be prove to freezing. So this could be said to be his official "year one" armor after his initial debut as Iron Man. Tony would continue to modify and upgrade the Iron Man armor series throughout the years, but this is a good start.

I hope you guys like it.
